Castle that Never Was
"This is impossible!" Larxene exclaimed. "How were we released from the darkness? And for that matter, who released us?" All thirteen members of Organization XIII had been revived by unknown matters and were meeting together. A majority were still rather baffled by their sudden revival while the remainder were simply pleased to be around again.
"Does it matter?" Xemnas asked. "We now have seven new subjects to test."
"I counted six," Axel said. "Where did the seventh one come up?"
"The seventh one is the youngest, and quite possibly the strongest, of the group. He and the fire handler will be found in the same area."
"What fire handler?" Vexen asked. "Are you saying we have equals?"
"Existing equals, capable of controlling one element. And since there are seven of them, only seven of us will be matched up with them."
"Matched up?" Xigbar asked. "You mean like pairs? And what elements can they control?" Xemnas then proceeded to list off the elements.
"Only one problem with that," Marluxia said. "None of us use stone as an attribute."
"True, but deserts are made of sand, which is a type of stone, and tend to cause mirages, which are illusions." This was directed at Zexion.
"Oh, very clever, Xig," he said, crossing his arms. "Nice coincidence."
"Then it's settled," Xemnas said. "Zexion will be paired with the stone handler."
"And what about the rest of us who won't be paired up?" Demyx asked. "Excuse me, rest of you?"
"We'll be monitoring the others. There will be six of us left, after all." Xigbar smiled.
"I'll monitor Demyx, since he'll be paired up with a girl," he said. Demyx looked at him in surprise.
"What!?" he exclaimed. "The girl is the water handler? I thought that was the blonde boy! I was really looking forward to working with him! That girl is gonna nag me to death! Or what feels like death, at least."
"I've sent each of the element handlers to a certain world," Xemnas said. "Axel and Roxas will be returning to Twilight Town, since their equals will be found there."
"And the rest of us?" Xaldin asked. After a while, the other five were selected and assigned to their equals. Later, the remaining six selected those they would be monitoring.
"Do we all understand the arrangments?"
"One question," Roxas said. "What are these element handlers really called?"
"They're called Toa," a new voice rang out. Everyone looked at the speaker to find him to be a young male. His face was concealed behind an odd mask, but his deep red eyes were visible. The armor he wore was a similar red, but with small green splotches in random areas. For his age, his voice was darker than even Xemnas, but was also mixed in with his original voice.
"And who might you be, boy?" Xemnas asked. The boy looked at him.
"The boy's name is not important as of now. My name, however, is Teridax."
"And what, exactly, are you, Teridax, if you possess such a young boy?"
"My race has called me by one thing... Makuta. They have feared me for millions of years." Lexaeus snorted at this, followed by snickers from some of the others.
"You don't look so tough," he said. "You're race must be very small compared-"
"You do not understand the true capabilities of a Makuta, Lexaeus." Everyone was suddenly quiet at this. Xemnas was the first to regain his posture.
"And what are you capable of, Makuta?" he asked.
"Many things, shape-shifting and mind-reading for example. I am also the one responsible for your return to your empty states."
"That answers your question," Saïx muttered to Larxene.
"Also, I am aware that you are testing the Toa's strengths and abilities."
"Comparing them with our own was my intentions," Xemnas continued. "And besides, these comparisons will be doing these Toa a favor, as they were already fit to train in time." He looked at Teridax with suspicion. "You've tested them yourself, haven't you?"
"Them, and many other humans. They were sent back to our original time and put through many challenges, the human Toa going through some... unusual changes."
"And what would these 'unusual changes' be?" Luxord asked. Teridax looked at him, hiding a smile.
"I will simply say that they merely gained an extra limb." Xemnas nodded, understanding what the Makuta was saying.
"How interesting," he muttered.

Chapter 2!! Why not, since both of my other stories are done now. How did Teridax pull this off? Who knows? But now we know who was responsible for sending us human Toa to different worlds. Fair warning, things are going to get really confusing because, being Kingdom Hearts related, we're going to be switching back and forth from locations, it's going to involve probably a couple of us turning into Heartless (me obviously), and a lot of other confusing things. Including sea-salt ice cream.
